SANAD – SPECIFIC QUALITY OF MUHAMMAD’S, PEACE AND BLESSINGS BE ON HIM, UMMAH

Summary/Abstract: This text actualises sened or a line of Hadith transmitters, which was and still is the most reliable mechanism for separation of authentic traditions from the weak or false ones. Such methodology for information review has become a specific quality only of Muhammad’s, peace and blessings be upon him, followers. The reason for its actualisation, Islamic scholars find in formation of apocryphal traditions and in an attempt to infiltrate various forgery into pure and authentic Islamic teaching. It occurred with the appearance of afflictions at the time of the Usman’s, may Allah be pleased with him, murder, and even more clearly continued and culminated during the time of Ali, may Allah be pleased with him. This scientific method is, without a doubt, a precursor of contemporary scientific methodology, expressed by stating authors and their works on margins and in footnotes, and mentioning used literature in the end of the books, which is a sort of seal and recognition of content authenticity in today’s literature. Identical to today’s situation when a text which is not based on relevant literature is not accepted, Islamic scholars did not even take into consideration those traditions which were mentioned without sened, meaning line of tradition transmitters.
