Distinctive traditions of Education and Science in Ukraine-Rus’

Summary/Abstract: The article shows that the Ukrainian education has a long distinctive traditions that were emerged from Kyiv Rus and acquired new forms in during the Cossack state. They include openness to the world, nedohmatychnist, European orientation, binding to the philosophical and naturalistic ancient and Christian ideological background and the needs of the time. The original vector is the secular military, legal and political training system, which was due to a distinct of social demand. The process is creates of unique and distinctive national education and research system. Absorbing the experience of civilization centers of that time, it institutionalized multi-dimensional and multi-elementary, middle school, colleges, and high schools, special academies, universities. They provided almost complete literacy, as well as the conditions for the formation and growth of Ukrainian spiritual, military, administrative, secular, scientific elite. This elite field crossed that typical of contemporary Europe, with its monarchies illiterate who delegated the Vatican’s most state functions. In the context of the topic, the authors considers necessary: 1. Search and translation of contemporary Ukrainian scientific heritage of ancient domestic thinkers, including professors (lecturers) Ostroh and Kyiv Mohyla academy; 2. Deep comparative studies of Ukrainian literature, mythology, world outlook, with systems of language and philosophy of other peoples Indo-European branches; 3. The study, analysis and publication of intelligence on the old technical and technological expertise and practices of ancient Ukrainian in local areas – military, urban-architectural, mining and metallurgical, shipbuilding; 4.
