Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the analysis of Yanka Luchina’s (Jan Niesłuchowski) oevure, one of the representatives of Belarusian literature in the 19th century. Special attention is focused on the contribution of “Akwarelki myśliwskie z Polesia” in the development of the author’s Belarusian national idea. This literary work is considered a saga of the Belarusians. The poet’s posthumous works with their themes and problems reflect mentality of the Belarusian people on the turn of the 20th century. The main idea of the poet’s writing is based on the assumption that Belarusian character is revealed in the style people live, their inner world and perception of reality.
