Summary/Abstract: This article aims to present the evolution of Belarusian, Ukrainian and Polish ethnocultural concepts popyel, papyalooshka, papyalidi. The author’s attention is directed to the ambivalent character of the concept popyel in the analyzed languages and the combination of the opposite meanings of the symbol. The results of the typological and contrastive analysis of the texts show that moral-ethic code of Slavic nations is of uniform character.
