The means UN uses to address the security challenges are The Security Council Resolutions and the respective tools to pursue the resolutions are the UN Missions / Operations. UnitedNations peacekeeping operations have evolved to encompass a wide range of mandated tasks. Theadministrative, logistical and other specialized support arrangements for United Nations peacekeeping operations are crucial for the effective implementation of these tasks. The Integrated Service Support System (ISS)represent an integrated approach to supporting and sustaining UN PKOs in the field of specific sensitive services and functions.
