Summary/Abstract: This work shows the development of socialist thoughts in the Principality of Serbia from 1868 to 1876. The main character of socialist thoughts in Serbia in the second part of the 19th century was Svetozar Marković. The ideas that were founded in Serbia by Svetozar Markovic represented the reaction on capitalist order, i.e. on the civil society in Western European countries. As the leader of the generation of school youth which founded the National Radical Party a few years later (1881), Markovic got into a fight with the vicarious regime, demanding fundamental social and economical reforms in Serbia.
