Summary/Abstract: The information about the important diplomatic event of the medieval history of Ukraine – initiated by Grand Duke of Lithuania Vytautas the Congress of European monarchs in Lutsk in 1429 is analyzed in this article. The special attention is paid to the investigation the interests the states whose representatives provided negotiations in Lutsk. The consequences of the negotiations and their role in the subsequent fate of European countries are defined in the article.
