Summary/Abstract: The aim of the present paper is not to indicate whether or not we can talk about a philosophy of Camil Petrescu. Instead, we focus on pointing out what happened to Camil Petrescu the moment he started getting involved with philosophy and philosophers, arguments and points of view of various opponents on what is true and the tenacity of simply sustaining the truth all the way. But the issue is that the truth is rarely pure and never simple. Acknowledging this and dealing with all that one has to confront himself with in this world is what makes Camil Petrescu to be considered a truly European figure.
