Facilitating the development of entrepreneurship by local governments (on the example of the town of Żagań)

Summary/Abstract: Local governments have at their disposal a number of instruments that can stimulate the development of local entrepreneurship. In many municipalities, the influence of local authorities on the environment of local entrepreneurs proves inconsistent and devoid of complexity. The necessity to transform the existing forms of support for local entrepreneurship were also recognized by the authorities of the town of Żagań who have taken measures leading to the development of the program of supporting entrepreneurship. The aim of this study is to describe the instruments of supporting entrepreneurship by the local government and to present the legal and organizational forms of entrepreneurship supported by the municipal authorities of Żagań in the program of supporting entrepreneurship to be implemented by the town of Żagań in the years 2016–2020.
