Summary/Abstract: In order to make this evaluation we took into account the main contributions published in synthesis works of the last decades which are considered as references for the study of the Dacian civilization from the „classical era” (i.e. 1st century BC – the Roman conquest). They were the basis on which school and university handbooks were drafted, and were considered as references for partial or special studies on certain aspects of the archaeology of that period.
