Summary/Abstract: In recent years, the problems experienced in Turkey's neighboring countries have clearly shown that people who are the victims for the sake of the ambitions of the imperialist powers are forced to leave their homeland in difficult conditions. Turkey hosting refugees in almost all cities and universities has provided great opportunities for their education. The study was conducted with a total of 21 international students studying Turkish at university in the Mediterranean region TOMER. Among the participants, 1 is Yemen, 1 Kazakhstan, 2 Iraqi, 2 Chinese and 15 Syrians. Semi-structured interviews were conducted by the researcher in the direction of two experts who are experienced in teaching Turkish to foreigners. Having a qualitative research design, the research used case study method. The questions in the interview form aims to measure the students' preferences of Turkish and their views on Turkish. Research results have revealed that international students mostly prefer Turkish for studying, living in Turkey, for communicating with Turkish people, for their tendency towards learning a new language, and for finding a good job.
