Summary/Abstract: The contribution analyzes four hydronyms from Eastern Balticum, recorded by Ptolemy in the mid-2nd cent. CE in context of witness of other ancient geographers. Their revised etymological analyses lead to the conclusion that at least three of them are of Germanic origin, but probably calques on their probable Baltic counterparts.
