Summary/Abstract: Purpose of Research. The purposes of the article are to analyse the legislation on the regulation of the museum business in Ukraine and to define the practical state -managerial principles in this area. Methodology. The methodology of the research includes various problem-oriented approaches, which are based on systematic and legal analysis of normative legal acts in order to improve state-management decisions as the main direction of the regulatory activity of the state. Scientific Novelty. The scientific novelty of the research is to analyse the latest regulatory documents and promising areas of public administration in the museum affairs. Conclusions. Ukraine has formed a sufficient regulatory system that defines the conceptual framework for the functioning of the museum business and the activities of public authorities in this area. At the same time, in order to ensure public management and administration of socio-cultural processes in the context of the development of museums and museum affairs, Ukraine must focus on the implementation of innovative forms and methods of public administration, based on the acquisition of advanced world experience, which will ensure the formation of the positive managerial image, as well as the confidence to its institutions.
