Summary/Abstract: Individualization of education and training is an important issue in school as well as in in educational discourse and law of education. The aim of this article is to analyze the issues of individualization in education and upbringing and investigate whether this process is carried out in kindergartens and primary schools. The authors argue that the key role of a teacher, whose task is to recognize developmental and educational needs of pupils and take into account these differences during the didactic and educational process.The study was conducted using a self-report questionnaire. The sample consisted of 110 teachers from 12 educational institutions located in Warsaw. The research was conducted in 2015 and 2016. The results demonstrated that that teachers know what individualization is and know how to personalize education and training. However they realize process of education and as a main form of work using frontal teaching. The process of individualization according to the participants is dependent on the number of students in the class and conditions that the school creates. It can be concluded that individualization is not carried out in kindergartens and schools, however teachers try to introduce elements for individualization. Conducting courses using the frontal teaching prevents the individualization of teaching and upbringing. The teachers’ personality, knowledge of methodology and their attitude toward pupils have a great impact on education.
