Summary/Abstract: It was in 2005 that the first Hungarian journal, the Mercurius Hungaricus had its 300th anniversary. Scientific history regards this as a starting point of hungarian press. It has developed much in the last 3 centuries, since the Rakoczi liberation-struggle. In Hungary, press-history is being researched since the latter hal of the 19th century. Eva Lakatos press-bibliographer, the co-worker of the National Szechenyi Library, the author of many studies, bibliographies, repertoriums and books is preparing a study on the printed periodicals which have been accumulated over the past decades. We’ve had a dialogue with her on this topic.
