Summary/Abstract: The renewal of liberalism in the recent twenty-odd years opens the question concerning its intellectual foundations and and its authenticity. The author finds the answers concerning the sources of liberalism in the individual autonomy of the person formulated as a natural right and deduces the legitimacy of power from the individual's consent.
