Summary/Abstract: The year of celebrating Great Union in 1918 represents and important moment of commemorating the tumultuous events in the aftermath of World War 1, that generated profound changes in European history at the beginning of 20th century and resulted in a major reconfiguration of Central and Eastern-European region within their national boundaries for most of those who had been for centuries oppressed by the two empires, Austro-Hungarian and Tsarist. As for Romanian nation, the major consequences of the dismantling of Austro-Hungarian Empire and of the Bolshevik revolution were the great historical moment of fulfilling our national desiderate of national freedom set by the ’48 generation and the end of a long historic period of oppression and humiliations for the Romanian population.
