Summary/Abstract: The author of this article reviews Radu Voinescu's study on "Modernities" - a collection of essays concerned with cultural anthropology issues. The texts, some of which already published in cultural newspapers, present and interpret various customs and traditions. However, the theoretical reflections of the author are seen as uncomfortable, displeasing and decotextualized in a variety of ways, emphasized by Otilia Hedeşan's critical analysis.
