Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the origin and the genesis of the contemporary Croato-Hungarian border. Although river Drava, one of the oldest European national borders, is physico-geographical base for delimitation there are three sectors on which border does not follow river bed: Međimurje, Baranja and Prekodravlje sector.
