Reformation and the Rise, Crisis and Perspectives of the Old Testament Theology

Summary/Abstract: The article shows how the theological assumptions of the Reformation contributed to the formation of the discipline of Biblical theology and theology of the Old Testament. Next it presents objections to the theology of the Old Testament, which were a result of the development of Biblical studies, especially the historical-critical methods of exegesis. The final part of the article discusses the contemporary need for and development of theology of the Old Testament.
