Summary/Abstract: Transcribers of the Qur’an have a significant role in the history of Islam, for their specific contribution in spreading Islam throughout the world. Besides Arabic, Persian, Turkish and Indian transcribes, significant contribution to the history of Qur’an transcription was made by transcribes of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Since the Ottoman arrival in this area a number of most renowned transcribes have appeared from amongst the Bosniaks. One of those is Ibrahim ef. Šehović. This article aims to present the life and work of this renowned transcribe of the Word of God.
