Summary/Abstract: A research on the provisions of the New Civil Code, promoter of a monistic vision of private law relations, shows conceptual similarities with Romanian consumption law. Such convergences, without leading to the fully unified adoption of the meaning of certain legal terms or to the identical treatment of the common notions, are still visible, as, for example, in the recognition of the doctrine of frustration of purpose in the performance of contracts, or in the regulation of lesion as vice of consent.
