Summary/Abstract: This article deals with the hybrid theme of return in Le fleuve détourné by Rachid Mimouni. We would like to shed light on the merging relationship between the theme of return and diegesis. The return is the revealing element of hybridity of the diegesis. It shows up, in its turn, in a hybrid form as it involves the idea of return and departure at the same time. This is that combination that we shall try to examine throughout its multifarious forms.
