Summary/Abstract: This article explores the subject of cross-border region development throughcross-border cooperation. It focuses on the northern part of the Polish-German border region.The paper’s objective is to identify and indicate the endogenous potential that mayconstitute the basis for implementing Polish-German projects co-financed by the EuropeanUnion in the years 2014-2020. The paper describes the essence of a cross-border regionand the significance of endogenous resources in regional development. The authors pointsto Szczecin Lagoon and the potential that it determines (e.g. the operation of small fishingharbours, small-scale fishery and water tourism, as well as natural, landscape and culturalvalues) as an example of still unexploited opportunities for the development of thearea studied. The last section proposes sample cross-border projects the implementation ofwhich might influence the functioning of the cross-border area discussed. At the same time,the authors analyses priorities of the INTERREG VA Cooperation Programme for the regionin question in the period 2014-2020, as they provide possibilities for obtaining EU co-financingfor such projects.
