Summary/Abstract: On the basis of andragogy there are developed theories explaining the phenomenon of adults learning which is connected with their life. The article presents biographical learning theory and narrative learning theory. Based on theoretical assumptions the author attempts to identify common and differentiating elements of these two types of learning. Biographical learning and narrative learning coexist with each other, as well as overlap in some areas. Both processes should be combined with learning from life and the lifelong process. Their essential elements are narrative (re)construction, reflection, interpretation, explanation and making meanings of life experience. The essence of biographical learning is reflection on autobiography or the Other biography. Narrative learning takes place in the act of storytelling. It goes beyond just the biographical and includes the full range of narrated experience.
