NATURAL SOURCES AND SOCIO-ECONOMIC CONDITION OF CILICIA TRAKHEIA IN ANCIENT PERIOD

Summary/Abstract: The Cilicia Trakheia region is a rugged and steep region in the Central Taurus. These geographical conditions of the Cilicia Trakheia region have shaped the livelihoods of the people who lived in the region. The natural resources in the region are of vital importance due to the mountainous nature of the region. Indeed, natural resources are spontaneous sources in the region. Forest products are very important among these natural resources. Thanks to the forest products, the people who lived in the region both earned their living and earned an economic income. At the same time, since the region is coastal, economic income is also generated from seafood. In this study, the natural resources of the Cilicia Trakheia region in ancient period and the socio-economic status of the region will be examined. For this purpose, it will benefit from ancient sources and modern researches.
