Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to Vera Mutafchieva – a real phenomenon both in modern Bulgarian historical knowledge and literature. Her researches focused on the Ottoman period on which she published dozens of articles, studies, monographies in Bulgarian and European journals. Vera Mutafchieva is also an author of popular historical novels which were translated into many languages. The author of the article presents her development and contributions for the Bulgarian historical knowledge as her main scholarly theses are revealed.
