Summary/Abstract: The increase in interest in spiritual / religious issues observed in recent years also includes issues of religious / spirituality and health. The article attempts to answer the questions: What is the importance of religion / spirituality for health and illness? Can spirituality be considered one of the dimensions of health? Literature analysis shows that there are many factors that explain the influence of religiosity and spirituality on physical, mental and socialhealth. The expansion of health dimensions for health and spiritual well-being requires further, repeated studies in the field of analytical epidemiology, on large, inter-faith and intercultural trials, taking into account social, cultural and environmental criteria.
