Cretan hydronyms derived from appellatives denoting features of water and river-bed

Summary/Abstract: This paper describes 570 Cretan river names derived from Modern Greek appellatives which denote features of water and river-bed. The aim of my paper is not only an extensive description of this type of Cretan hydronyms on the basis of the structural-semantic method, but also a typological comparison with the Polish river names denoting features of water and river-bed.
