Summary/Abstract: In the times of socislism in Bulgaria:1944 – 1989, and more specifically after 1960 Bulgaria was the closest ally of the USSR. The western press called Bulgaria “The nearest satellite of the Soviet Union”. Were these closest relations of all socialist countries between Bulgaria and USSR random? The facts and the analyses show that behind closest relations hides a strive of Bulgaria for economic benefits from Soviet Union. Which in fact Bulgaria received in exchange for her loyalty.
