Summary/Abstract: History of material culture and history of ideas may seem for many of us too far away from each other to allow for bringing together elements from the two while preparing an academic paper. And yet the very scarcity of documents concerning the first one with reference to the history of India makes any miraculous appearance of such a document an opportunity so rare that I personally find it rather difficult to resist a chance when it comes. One such opportunity is the Kavīndrācāryasūcipatram (KSP) - a list of various works believed to have once formed a collection of manuscripts ascribed to Kāvīndrācārya Sarasvatī, a famous seventeenth century intellectual, man of letters and bibliophile of Benares.
