Summary/Abstract: The paper describes two models of revolutions adopted by counter-culture: changing the world by changing reality or by changing oneself. The counter-culture movements, hippie in particular, initially adopted the second type of revolution, by cultivating pacifism and escapism, while searching for alternative lifestyles. With time, however, they joined the student and anti-war protests, thus causing the entire movement to be more radical. Counter-culture worked towards a total revolution, with educational institutions: schools and universities as an area of potential transformation. The suggested changes included sexual and aesthetic education, as well as tolerance of openness to the multitude of attitudes and values, which are significant even now.
