Summary/Abstract: The paper concentrates on the latest popular science publications devoted to animals and their relationship with humans. By analysing how and if the post-humanist ideas are fulfilled by such authors as Éric Baratay or Charles Foster, the article is trying to find the answer to whether this theory stands any chance of going beyond a strictly scientific discourse. The author focuses on studies on animals and whether the popularity thereof translates into social awareness, a change in the ways of thinking of humankind and its place in the world.
