Summary/Abstract: The paper discusses the relations between comedy shows, humour and morality in the context of political correctness. TV shows are treated as moral thought experiment, and humour as transgressive by definition. The relationships between humour and morality are presented in two ways: externally, when the contents of the show are reflected upon from the social perspective, and internally, when the images of morality are discussed within the world depicted in the show. Finally, a question is posed regarding the emancipation dimension of humour and the possibility of effectively fulfilling its social function in the context of a kind of censorship.
