Summary/Abstract: This article focuses on the interrelations of notions «religion» and «culture». The idea of the definitions of «church culture» and «church art» is revealed. The German Mass as one of the genres of the Catholic sacred music of the second half of the XVIIIth – the beginning of the XIXth centuries in the light of classicistic and romantic style tendencies is considered.
