Employment of women in the forestry sector in Bulgaria and its competitiveness

Summary/Abstract: The main research question of the paper is how to increase the competitiveness of the forestry sector in Bulgaria by the use of the potential of women who are employed in the sector. In this context, the wages, the minimum income and the level of education are characterized as elements of the cost of the work done by women. On the basis of analysis of the legislative framework in the field, publications in scientific and specialized literature, statistical data and information from individual interviews, some factors that have an impact on the employment rate of women in the forestry sector are drawn and analyzed.
