Factors and prerequisites for the development of ecotourism in Botevgrad municipality

Summary/Abstract: The survey includes a study of the ecotourism potential of Botevgrad Municipality and the opportunities for attractive ecotourism products supply. An overview of the current trends in ecotourism demand and supply as well as the peculiarities of ecotourism marketing and advertising are made in the contests of sustainable development. The opportunities provided by the natural resources of the Botevgrad Municipality and the protected areas in the region are explored in this study. Specific proposals for new ecotourism products have been formed on the basis of the main conclusions, which aim is to contribute to the transformation of Botevgrad Municipality into an attractive tourist destination.
