Summary/Abstract: This paper addresses a number of issues that concern and affect the contemporary world. Environmentalprotection should not be just a momentary topic of discussion, a ’trend’; it should be a permanent topic ofdiscussion because environmental damage affects humanity in the long run. Pollution is not a nationalsubject, it is an international one. We can have ideals about democracy and the rule of law, but if theexistence of species and of all humanity is questioned, the rest is rhetoric.
