Summary/Abstract: The article highlights the composer, conductor, organizational, pedagogical, social activities of one of the leading representatives of the music of Western Ukraine Vasyl Yakub'yak in the period between the two world wars and the first decades of Soviet rule. An attempt to create a complete portrait of the artist, the first dean muzpedfakultetu Drohobych father and a prominent scholar and musicologist Lviv Yarema Yakub'yak and draw attention to the scale and direction of its activities on the Galician territory that remains largely underestimated.
