ROMANIAN NOVEL IN VOJVODINA: THEMES AND MOTIFS

Summary/Abstract: The beginnings of the Romanian novel in Vojvodina were in the late fifties of the last century. Before this date a novel or even fragments of novels that might be considered the beginning of Romanian novel in Vojvodina had not been published. A literary history of Romanian literature in Vojvodina had not acknowledged the existence of any novels published by other countries before the fifth decade of the last century. This paper presents the most important moments in the evolution of the Romanian novel in Vojvodina from the first fragments published by the magazine “Lumina” in 1952, with an emphasis on the themes and motifs used by the authors in their novels.
