Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to comparative analysis of creative activities of two prominent artistic figures: Marko Kropyvnyts’ky, famous Ukrainian playwright, actor and stage director, and Abraham Goldfaden, the founder of Jewish theatre. The said analysis serves as the basis for a study into the common features and the differences in the development of Ukrainian and Jewish theatres.
