Summary/Abstract: Milk industry, which is adopted as one of the most important industries that has the most socio-economic determinants, comes into prominence as an operational branch comprised of a variety of sub-branches and also shows a significant development in Turkey in recent recents. It is important for the sector and regional economics to better understand the level of the corresponding development, main determinants and dynamics and to contribute to the competitive advantage of the industry. This study concentrates on the national competitiveness analysis of the milk industry in Ardahan province using Porter’s Diamond Model. The present study explores several dimensions of Porter’s Diamond Model including factor, demand, associated and supportive industries, firm strategy, structural and competitiveness conditions and governmental incentives and implementation. Results reveal that clusters of personnel and raw material costs for factor conditions, the level of the transformation of national demand into international demand for demand conditions, all conditions for associated and supportive conditions, SME construction and the level of being innovativeness for firm strategy and competitiveness conditions, all conditions for governmental incentives and implementation condition were all found as lower-level, underdeveloped and mediocre factors. When the relationships among the sub-dimensions of the diamond model are examined, the highest relationship has emerged between the relevant supporting industries and goverment support. The lowest relationship was found between factor conditions and government support. Relevant and supportive industries (2.46) and government support (2,27) are undeveloped and mediocre factors.
