Summary/Abstract: The modern man’s relation with nature, the world and the entire universe are far from taking place in a profane frame. Beyond the material and measurable aspects, a series of gestures, practices and beliefs announces a constant and subtle link between man and the magical and symbolical universe. The presence of divinatory practices even nowadays is a proof in this regard. The present paper provides a series of explanations regarding the tremendous survival of such practices, no matter the space, place, ethnicity or other cultural variables.
