Summary/Abstract: “The point of my lecture is that in the past two decades the contemporary foreign fiction, or the Hungarian reception (that is, the reception written in the Hungarian language) of world literature has been alarmingly decaying.” The lecture enumerates the Hungarian translation and reception of contemporary German fiction, sharply criticizing the practice of Hungarian cultural life’s orientation in world literature.
