Summary/Abstract: The following paper focuses on the analysis of phraseological units with component eye/eyes in Balkan languages, observing their semantic content, origins and variations. The body part is also examined in relation to the so called gesture phraseology, comprised of stable units constructed on the basis of face mimics and body language signs, and semantically related to nonverbal human behavior. It marks the question if the study of Balkan gesture phraseology is one of the next possible steps in contemporary Balkan linguistic studies.
