Education and Teaching in the Articles Published by a Monthly of the Lutsk Diocese, “Miesięcznik Diecezjalny Łucki” (1926-1939). Brief Discussion of the Historical Sources Depicting the History of Education in the Second Polish Republic

Summary/Abstract: The Roman Catholic diocese of Lutsk Monthly was published in the years of 1926-1939 upon an initiative of bishop Adolf Szelążek. Besides typically church-related and religious subjects, it also addressed such issues as education and teaching. More specifically, it became a forum for the higher members of the clergy on which they expressed their opinions on teaching and education. Due to scarcity of other historical sources, as the majority of them were damaged during the Second World War, the Roman Catholic diocese of Lutsk Monthly has become an interesting source depicting the history of education in the Volhynia region during the interwar period.
