Summary/Abstract: The modern achievments of cybernethics and informational communicational technologies have greatly increased the potential of proggramed teaching especially in area of Elementary Math.In this paper we have shown a linear and ramified programming as one teaching technique in Elementary Math so as to provide students with basic math literacy, incorporating math into everyday life and showing its usefulness and importance. Programmed teaching offers greater possibilites for rationalization of teaching in comparison to traditional teaching techniques. It allows for quantitative learning, adopting one segment of the curriculum and the next, creating a whole greater than the sum of its parts. All students successfuly tackle problems and work assignments increasing their confidence while introducing them to math. Thus they do not develop an antagonism towards math as is often the case when using traditional teaching tecniques. When work assigments in elementary math are suitable for programming they should be introduced to the students in a reasonable way creating refreshment for all participants of the education process. This paper is the inital work in the subject of programmed teaching as pertaining to elementary math and can be used as a paradigm for teachers, offering permanent upgrades to the educational process.
