Strategic Orientation for Improving Financial Performance Case Study in Al-Qadissiya Governorate Banking

Summary/Abstract: This study investigated the relationships between market turbulence, competitive intensity, customer orientation, competitor orientation, inter-functional coordination, organizational commitment and financial performance in the banks of Al-Qadissya governorate. A survey questionnaire was conducted for investigation and data was collected from 170 mangers that work in these banks. To test these relationships, the authors examined all the variables under (SPSS V 20). In order to reveal the effects of the variables, the findings showed that market instability and competitive intensity have effect on strategic orientation, while market instability has no effect on organizational commitment and financial performance. At the same time, inter-functional coordination has no effect on organizational commitment. Furthermore, the study findings showed correlations between competitive intensity and organizational commitment, while there is no correlation between competitive intensity and financial performance. At last, organizational commitment influences financial performance. According to the study results could be improved by all types of strategic orientation and enhance organizational commitment that increase financial performance.
