Summary/Abstract: In this paper author will discuss the trends in contemporary children's literature. The context of contemporary children's literature will be compared to the historical context, including the influence of the cultural changes. This is an overview of the genres and themes in children’s books, by using poststructuralist methodology in literary criticism.
