Summary/Abstract: This work is conceived so that the first half generally treats both dramas according to theoretical claims of tragedy and comedy. Using the most Aristotelian theses about tragedy and comedy, I explained the relationship between tragic and comic through a comparative analysis of Sofokl's tragedy "King Edip" and Klaist's "The broken Jug". The second part of this paper elaborates what is stated in the first part with specific examples and additional body analysis in tragedy and comedy. By comparing the main protagonists of the aforementioned drama, I have pointed to the essential differences between the tragic and comic figure, their bodies and what they represent. Sofoko's tragic figure as "exalted," which is one of the basic traits of an ancient tragedy, and Klaist's comic character as "vanished," which is one of the basic qualities of comedy, gives a clear representation of a man as "must be" and what he is in "reality".
